About Pray You Break

In Pray You Break author David Jerome invites the reader into his private meditation on the gains and losses that life and its transition bring. Framed within four seasons and drawing on somewhat religious themes, the prose and poetry in this collection are as vivid as the accompanying imagery by artists AJ Rogers, Danilo McCallum and designer Colanthey Humphrey. The text and illustrations work together to evoke a sense of eavesdropping into an intimate confession. Though personal, these succinct poetic reflections tap into the shared, emotional experience of a human being confronted by and transformed in moments of challenge, choice and change. Pray You Break is the first publication for author and poet David Jerome.
